With over a decade of experience in the field of education, the School Mea cultivates the education of an active, independent, responsible, cooperative and confident individual. We want to convey the values of an education oriented towards tolerance and multiculturalism in order to form personalities capable of being attentive to the needs of those around them.
To better prepare for the contemporary world, we promote compulsory bilingual subjects in a fun and challenging trans-disciplinary learning system. |
The International School of Bucharest is a non-profit day school providing a British style of education for children aged 2 to 19 years in Bucharest, Romania’s capital city. Children in the Early Years, Primary and Secondary school (ages 2 to 14) follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales, which is adapted to meet the needs of our international student body. Students in Years 10 and 11 follow the Cambridge IGCSE programme. Years 12 and 13 are the final two years of our programme where students are prepared for International A-levels.

In a fast changing world, it is easy for children to grow up too quickly. In the Primary School, we value childhood as the most important stage in one’s life, a time where social development through friendship and play is as important as academic development within the classroom. We passionately believe that a primary school education is about opening doors to young minds and, whilst maintaining high academic standards, we strive to ensure that each pupil has as many doors from which to choose as possible.
In the Secondary department we build on the firm foundations laid in the primary department and open our children’s minds to all possibilities. We follow the British National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 and personalize it to meet the needs of the individual. |
We are a small, friendly and happy school with a strong sense of community. Respect, tolerance, creativity, and independent learning are a priority at IBSB as we understand that a good education is not only about exam results, but also the emotional and social development of our children.
In addition to a strong academic programme, we are able to offer our children a rich extracurricular calendar, including day and residential trips, after school clubs, a strong work experience programme, CAS programme, and a colourful array of school and interschool events designed to develop students at all levels. |
