The
Structure
Students from Member Schools can participate in one or two categories of their choice, as long as the times are not in conflict. The six categories are Group Acting, Individual Acting, Impromptu Speaking, Poetry, Storytelling, and Persuasive Speaking.
Students can choose one or two from the following:
Group Acting
Poetry
Impromptu Speaking
and/or
Individual Acting
Storytelling
Persuasive Speaking
Rounds
There are two rounds for each category: First and Second. The First Round has an A and B Group. This is only to equally divide up students from all member schools. There is no value or quality difference between them. Note: Group Acting has only 4 groups in the First Round. Their performances are longer. All other Categories have 8 groups/students per round. Only the top two groups in Group Acting continue to the Second Round. The Second Round has one Group, C. This is only to differentiate from the First Round A and B Groups. Students in the First Round compete for the top four places. Students in the top four places, as decided by the judges, continue on to the Second Round. Those students who do not finish in the top places do not continue and either focus on their other category, participate in other activities, or can attend a workshop. Students in the Second Round compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. All other places receive an Honorable Mention. After the Second Round, all students must wait for the Awards Ceremony for the announcement of the winners. All 1st Place winners must perform their work at the Awards Ceremony. |
