Storytelling
Time: 3-4 minutes
1-2 students per group The art of oral storytelling is one of our most ancient and cherished traditions. The storyteller uses vocal variation and physical movement to suggest different characters and character relationships in order to make the story come alive in the mind of the listener. This is an individual category or two-person category. The storyteller(s) may choose to sit or stand while telling their story. Published stories of all styles will be the main focus. Stories for children may be the most suitable and are encouraged. However, students may also adapt their own story from other materials: combination of different works, song lyrics, speeches, prose, etc. Students may also choose to write their own stories. |
